Jess is Director of TTL. They are the recipient of the 2020 Outstanding FYS Faculty Award, an RSD fellow, and the designer of the Antiracism and Racial Justice training for SU. Jess earned their Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida with a specialization in the social foundations of education. Jess teaches FYS, Gender & Women’s Studies, and History.

Hilary is Associate Director of TTL. She also teaches narrative design/storytelling and field natural history. Prior to joining SU in 2019, she was the director of tutoring services at Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville, Kentucky. Hilary earned her MFA in creative writing from The City College of New York.
Jenna Azar, M.Ed.

Jenna is an Instructional Designer for TTL. Prior to joining SU, Jenna held leadership roles in higher education where she focused on strategic educational priorities – diversity, equity, and inclusion, student success, and digital learning – including developing several interdisciplinary cross-campus academic initiatives. Jenna holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University.
Quianna Daniels-Smart, M.S.W., L.S.W

Quianna serves as an Instructional Designer at TTL, bringing with her a wealth of experience in both social work and higher education. In her previous role, she took the lead in initiating faculty learning communities, facilitating professional development workshops, and orchestrating full-day symposiums. Quianna holds a Master’s in Social Work and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Work, with a dedicated focus on faculty development in higher education.

Jacob is the Instructional Technology Support Coordinator for TTL. Building on a prior career in the IT support field, he develops and delivers training on the implementation and use of educational technology tools in courses at SU. In addition, he serves as the direct support contact for these tools and interfaces with vendors for external support, as needed. Jacob holds a Master of Science in Education from Shenandoah University, a MicroMasters Certificate in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership.
